Converter won't bolt up!

Converter won't bolt up!
This really, really sucks. Somebody tell me I'm doing something wrong. The damn bolt holes on the flex plate will not line up with the verter. Looks like the PI bolt pattern is about 1/8" to small. I've tried for 45 minutes now to bolt the dang thing up and it will not.
Here are options as I see it now. I want badly to have the truck back on the road by Tuesday morning.
1> Pull it back apart and put the stock verter back in. Send this POS verter back and demand my money back.
2> Leave the truck apart and bum rides to work for a week and send the verter back, praying the next one fits.
3> I might possible be able to get my angle grinder, with a stone in it, up there to relieve the bolt hole abit to make it work. Worried about balance and weakening the flex plate.
What do you guys think!
HOW could THEY SCREW this UP!

3 hours of tedious, tight grinding and its bolted up. Time will tell how she holds up.
I'm with you gamedawg. This is CRAP! Things were going fairly well till this. Sometime in the future when the memory of this has faded I'm gonna tear back into it and make it right. Probably with a different verter.

it sure would be nice if they would at least tell you it isn't going to fit without grinding.
i hoged out the holes with a die grinder and haven't had any problems. xlr8nss just ordered a old style sfi flex plate he is going to try and if that works i am going to order one too. i dont really like the idea of hoged out holes with what i am trying to do.

my problem is my converter is for a 4l80e and they only have one cover for a 4l80e.
KySilverado, are you doing a 4l60e? i thought it was just a 4l80e problem but if it is on their 4l60e converters too then they need to get the right jigs or covers or whatever.
