I have a denali '08 Awd and I want to but it on dyno . So I want to converting it from awd to rwd because the workshop that I perform my truck on it just has rwd dyno.

 

Just to dyno it, I would yank the front driveshaft out of it. Does the yoke stay in the transfer case or is it part of the driveshaft?

No!! Your best bet is to find an awd dyno, you can dyno it in 2wd but it is very risky, I can't remember the steps, but I read the steps on silveradoss.com

 

In the OP’s case, pulling the front driveshaft is not an option. Unlike the earlier model GM trucks and SUV’s equipped with the NVG-149 that had the viscous coupler, the newer style cases are an open differential type the works in conjunction with the ABS to transfer power. If one were to pull either shaft, the power would be automatically directed towards the end without load.

Can't do that, the wheel bearings wont stay together without the splines and big nut holding it together.

 

Whats done to the truck youre wanting to dyno? Just curious.

 

Let me rephrase that. Cut the cv shaft after it connects to the hub, buy another set before you do this lol
