Converting Z71 4x4 to 2WD stance

Default Converting Z71 4x4 to 2WD stance

I want to lower my truck a bit but not do a full blown aftermarket suspension kit. I really like the stance of the stock 2wd trucks and I was wondering what all I would need besides 2wd u-bolts, removing the lift blocks and buying 2wd drive shocks in order to get my truck down to that stance? TIA for any help and if anyone has the p/n's for the oem parts I would need to buy I'd greatly appreciate them, thanks!

What are you going to do about the front?
You can untwist the torsions a little but then it will rest hard on the stops...unless you cut them and then it will be a little (not bad) loose.

I have no idea what I need to do to the front end, that's why I'm calling on the experts to point me in the right direction!

Most of us will recommend spindles but they'll require 17" wheels, minimum. If you're just going to take out the block and want a level stance you can probably get away with just de-twisting the torsions an inch.

do you want a stock height 2wd height? if so just pull out the lift blocks and de-crank the torsion bars a little.

put green keys in it if our keys lift the 2500hds then theres should drop our 1500 trucks

So you're saying I could just swap in a set of 2500HD torsion keys to lower the front in addition to removing the rear lift blocks and switching to 2WD U-Bolts in the rear and that should give me the stock 2WD stance?

Is de-cranking the torsion bars going to have any adverse effect on drivability and component longevity in the front end?

not if only a little bit, like an inch. Mine is down some, handles pretty good but i need to get rid of those stock shocks.
