Default Cooling Trans

So I had the truck out tonight, stopped to talk to someone and let the truck just idle. Sat idling for maybe 20 min or so, and when I got in the trans was almost at 150* which is a bit higher than I would like it to get. Highway driving the temps are usually around 115-125 or so. Should I go ahead and bypass the radiator, or install a pusher fan in front of the cooler? Truck has a 3200 stall and Tru-Cool 40k on it. I do tow occasionally and also do some hauling once in a while.

150 is nothing to worry about at all in my opinion, that's still on the chilly side. I've ready the ideal temp is 175 or so, mine usually runs cooler than that and I'm fine with it.

I'm just worried if it gets that hot sitting at idle, how warm might it get pulling a load in stop and go traffic. Maybe I'm just being overcautious though.

its fine, but I would bypass the radiator. I learned the hard way... tank busted and got coolant in my trans fluid.

The reason for you warming at idle is the radiator. You have nothing to worry about but if you want it to stay lower then bypass the radiator.

mine has ran at 200-210 its whole life. Original trans was beat on and still working with 206000 miles on it. My new trans is running about 200 in 90 degree temps outside, but it isnt climbing any higher even after driving for hours. My new trans is bypassed into a hayden cooler but i plan on installing this huge one I just bought to try to bring it down more, after that I will throw a fan on it. I'm running a mild stall with built trans and 4.56s so rpms are up there, and these temps are from the dash guage so I know actual temps maybe a little different.
