As far as weight, the 14 SF 6 lug will add 100-150lbs of weight over the stock 10 bolt. These axles can easily be converted to disks. However, they are still C-clip axles, and differentials are expensive.

The 14 FF, once converted to 6 lug with disks using geartech hd's kit, will weigh roughly the same as the 6 lug 14 SF because the disk brake conversion sheds 100 lbs. off the axle, and new hubs are aluminum. You can throw a Detroit locker in this thing for $397, and you don't have the disadvantage of C-clips.

Also, he 14 FF to my knowledge is one of the most heavily supported axles in the aftermarket.
I think rear-ends are something you can only get a good feel for and understand completely once you've worked on them and I have never worked on one so...
Which would you suggest would be best suited to handle 800 rwhp/800 rwtq? What are the disadvantages to each of the three options you offered and (you can PM me the answer to this last one) how much, ballpark, would each set-up run me if you build it for me and send it out to Cali.
I want 4.10's and rear discs compatible. I have an 2wd 05 sierra 1500 if that makes a difference.
I'm a newb when in comes to rear end so I appologise about this next question but, A larger rear end, such as a 14 bolt compared to a 9.5 is thicker in casing thickness and it can hold a bigger volume of oil right? Any other advantages?
