Default Cutting coil question

I am going to cut my stock coils to drop me 1.5 in the front of my 2wd 2006. My question is it one whole coil equals 1 inch of drop? So 1 1/2 would get me 1.5 inchs?

Thanks Bo

That is a cheap way of doing it, however it works. I did it on my 89 rcsb silvy.. Cut 1/2 coil at a time. Most of the tim 1/2 coil will get you close 1'' of drop, but some differ. Do not get into a rush.. You no this will change the ride of the truck some??

Yeah i know but I bought a 3/6 drop and it drop me way to much I am going to sell the drop and was going to cut the fronts just for a 1 1/2 drop in the front I knew it would ride different but I didnt think 1 1/2 inchs would make that big of a difference in the ride did your 89 ride really bad?

No it did not ride bad, but def not like stock. It was a bit stiffer, but nothing horrible.. This was I believe with a 1.5 coils out.. But it has been a long time. LOL What does your kit consist of??

I cut my coils on my 09 on the front and it dropped about 2 1/4 inches. LIke mentioned
Before, take ur time. I would say 3/4 of a coil would do on yours, and it will ride stiffer. You are effectivley increasing the spring rate by shortening the springs.

that looks damn good.

Its a djm 3 inc coil and a djm flip kit with a fabbed 1 3/4 lift shackle. The back rides good I just need to roll my fenders. The fronts touch without moving

I should flame you for posting a shitty picture but I'll help bo.

We put a 3 inch spring on it and it lowered it to much so we are going to cut stock springs for not as low drop. He doesn't want to change tire sire so don't say tire size or I'll bash you lol

more pics that are worth a **** lol
