Default cutting strut coils.......bad idea for 2008 RCSB?

Is it safe to cut coil springs?

I have a 2008 RCSB with a 3/5 ground force kit #9996 shown below.

Heres the deal...my kit was for an extcab because they didnt make a 3/5 regcab and nothings really different...cept maybe coil spring rates (as I now know). I didnt get the full 1" drop from my coils and Im wanting to cut my coils to get that 1" drop I need.

Im really frustrated over this because I wanted my front 1" lower so I could remove the 1" block in back...however these stupid coils are preventing me from achieving the drop/look I want.

I have an air cut-off tool with a small 3" cutting disc that I was gonna use to cut with. Problem is its alot of work to install these on the struts so I would like to cut it the right amount the first time and not have to remove and re-cut again.

I can either cut the GF springs or the stock springs (I have two sets of stockers regcab/extcab).

The drop has been on for about a month now and it hasnt settled at all.

My ground force springs settled past 3" to about 3 1/2 after a couple months.

Edit: my springs were suppossed to be 3" drop.

Forgot about that. They might not settle at all then. I cut some before using a cutoff wheel. It was pretty easy and went smooth. Just cut in the same place on both. I remember I didn't cut off that much and it dropped a good bit. I would cut a little at first, easier to cut a little more off later.

I've never been a fan of cutting coil springs, and everything that I've heard about it has been negative...

I cut 1/2 coil off today with my air cutoff tool, took maybe 1min each and the metal wasnt even hot to the touch. I havent installed them yet, but Ill report back how much drop it yeilded and the ride quality asap.

I would think it will go anywhere from 1 1/2-2" lower with a half coil removed.
