Default Daily driver shock recommendation (lowered, rcsb, 4x4)

Hello fellas!

I just bought lowering spindles and shackles. I also bought torsion keys, but will probably end up selling them.

Any who, I was wondering what you guys recommend for a slightly lowered truck. Do the spindles maintain stock shock mounting locations? My truck is a 2000 RCSB 4X4 with 20" wheels. Since I'm only going down 2 inches, I figured I could use stock length shocks. Or do I need lowering shocks?

Also, where would I buy axle shims in case I need them?

Thanks for any advice.

I've tried several shock combos, and IMO the KYB MonoMax work the best. Use part numbers for the AWD SSS trucks. They are just a little shorter than the regular 4x4 shocks and will work great for you.

Thanks so much. I know in camaro land kyb shocks are a no no. I've always had good luck with bilstiens. I was reading the bilstien hd thread and think they would be way too stiff for my application.

I'll look into the kyb monomax shocks.

Oh, what year SS truck do I look for? Are the mounts the same as my truck for sure?

Thanks!

2003 AWD SSS shocks will bolt right in. All the mounts are the same.

Cool! Thanks man.

These are the part numbers I came up with.

Front 565067 Rear 565103

Although I'm seeing some conflicting data. Some say.

Front 565066 Rear 565104

Cool. Thanks!

Looks like the cheapest place is amazon.com with the total being 233.96 with free shipping.
