Default Derale tranny pans: Thoughts and opinions?

I have one of these pans currently. It has these tubes show in the pic below. Well they advertise that these tubes can provide a 20* to 50* drop in temps. I haven't exactly experienced any drop in temps from this pan. My guess is that there isn't nearly enough air flowing under my truck that finds it's way into these tubes. It might work for a car, but on my truck, this pan isn't near the lowest part so little if any cool air flows over it.

I don't really want to ditch the pan yet, but rather experiment with it. I'd like to see if I can put these tubes to work. I see two options:
1.Either I build a sheet metal shroud that scoops cold air, and forces it into the tubes from under the truck.

2.Or tap into one of my heater lines and run engine coolant back to a manifold that would be welded to the tubes on the pan.

Thoughts and opinions? Obviously option 1 would be way easier.

I'll bet that you'll have better luck with a fan running below it . .. .

or having fun tapping into each of those lines, and routing it to it's own cooler

You did refrigeration stuff right? Tear a water cooler apart and use the innards to make a tranny pan cooler

I thought about that, but I really don't need any more refrigeration **** on my truck, and I don't think the system I built can keep up the IAT' and tranny fluid temps.

We have these tiny little DC computer fans here at work. They're low current, but I'm not sure how much cfms they can pull/push.

These little tubes just seem like a gimic to me. I'd probably be better off with a cast aluminum pan probably.

I did notice about a 25* drop with mine. Of course, I don't have an aftermarket cooler like most people do. Maybe that's why I saw the drop.

Yeah I got 2 tranny coolers on mine so....? I'm thinking I should just go to one big *** one that's nicer and then run some air through the tubes.
