Default Detroit Locker or TrueTrac for 9.5" 14 bolt??

I am getting ready to order a carrier to replace the G80 in my 14 bolt. I was originally thinking a locker for sure, but maybe a Truetrac would do the job. I am going to punish this thing like I do everything else, so a strong carrier is a must.

Detroit TrueTrac - $449
Detroit Locker - $579

What do I buy??? lol

I'm just thinking for street manners the TT really would be hard to beat. A drag only truck or an offroad beast, different story

I put a Trutrac in the 10 bolt when it grenaded and now I have one sitting in the garage waiting to go in the 14 bolt when I install it.

So I was pretty much sold on the True-trac until I called Randys Ring and Pinion and Rons Machining. Both recommended the Eaton because it is stronger and rebuildable.

Has anyone broke a True-trac? Wore one out?

lol, I believe somebody had once, somewhere. I think a lot of the big power guys are running the TT and if they were weaker I'd think you'd know about it by now. The Eaton (both are owned by Eaton btw) is a good unit too but has clutches and will need a rebuild at some point, you will also need to run friction modifyers.
