Default Detroit Truetrac Question

I'm getting my truetrac put in on monday. I was wondering how long should I let it break in for? Any info would be helpful.

Are you doing gears or just the diff?
I don't know that the diff requires a break in period but 3 heat cycles might help.

I dunno if there is one for the actual unit, but for the gears there is. I put the gears and unit in at once. I would still heat cycle it. I took mine out for about a 45 mile drive, brought it home let it sit, cool off, then went for another decent trip of 40-50 miles, a few to the store, home trips, gave it hell. The key it to put it threw a few heat cycles, 2-3 should be fine..

I did a burnout right after I pulled it out of my shop and haven't had any noise or problems with it!

I'm just just doing the diff. Should I change the gear? I have just under 50k on them.

funny you brought that up I installed a tructrac on mine about a month ago. I drained it today and refilled it with the purple stuff. I was not sure but since it is gear driven I would expect some ware to take place. When I changed it today I did notice a little metal shavings on the magnet. I drove mine for 500 miles before draining it. I did it for peace of mind more than anything.
