Looks like we are chewing some of the same dirt.

This is the part list I ordered, I don't think I used the washer and the adapter is the one for the tranny to the transfer case. I ordered the bushing just because I wanted to have them replaced.

I hope it helps, I spent a lot of time researching this.

GM Part # Description
19168732-------4.47 Bushing
19167564--------131.21 Sprocket
19151772--------167.57 Chain

Wow. I think im in love with you. I'm going to go with this. Thanks for your and help and sharing your knowledge. I found a tcase with a cracked case for 300 bucks. I wonder if that would be the best way to go.

It's all apart at a shop, they had that thing looking like 500 piece puzzle in less than 10 minutes. They are going to go through everything and get their head builder to look at it and come up with a recommendation of parts $$$$$. I was hoping I could just slide in a new shaft but it was good they field stripped it, everything looked good except the 3rd gear clutch pack, it was burnt. That explains why I always felt such a dramatic difference in pull once I hit third.

I ordered 300M shaft from CKPerformance yesterday so it might get put back together later next week.

Test fit the billet shaft into the converter before installing in the trans, they make them to be a tighter fit and mine as well as another I know of had to be lightly blasted to loosen them up a hair as it was to tight. Mine fit fine in the stock 80E converter but my aftermarket one was really a tight fit.

Was the trans built at the same shop you have it at now? Is the direct clutch dual fed? Also Pat brought up a good point in test fitting your input shaft into the torque converter. if you have to blast it duct tape everything including the ends but the splines and take small amounts at a time. remove tape and thoroughly clean shaft before each test fit. I might take a few times but to much is not a good thing either. Also the turbine shaft O rings have tendency to role on billet shafts use some Sonnax slippery stick instead of transgel or other type assembly lubricant. Any other internal billet upgrades? Weight sometimes is more of a factor than HP.

No, this was originally a Monster mistake that I had to have rebuilt within a year and had to get a new converter. It is at the shop that rebuilt it last year.

I really appreciate the info from you and Pat on test fitting the shaft. That could have been ugly to put it all back together only to find that issue.

The tranny didn't have any upgrades and I am sure they are going to recommend a ton of them now. Based on the feed back I received if the converter wasn't being locked in 2nd I wouldn't have had the failure, so part of me just wants to put in the new shaft and get it back together. I know weight is a issue for me at over 6500lb's curb weight. Knowing what I know now if I was starting all over I would have just spent the extra money upfront. Hind sight is 20/20...
