It was more of a general question, just to know the differences I know that I will not get it. I want a motor complete. I'm just down on luck here lately with performance...

I wouldn't let the aluminum block scare me. The sleeves are the same thickness a iron block has. If I were going 5.3 I would go L33 for weight savings. They have LS6 heads too.

IIRC the LS4 was for FWD vehicles and mounted transverse?

...

Do the L33, not too many people run that block and those who do, do pretty well with them. Some administrator on here has one, forgot his name.

Take a look at the bellhousing area. I believe the LS4 has the bellhousing bolt pattern for the fwd trans. The end of the crank may be different, but not sure on that.
