Default differential

I was ordering some gears online and i do not know what size of diff i have,
the truck is a 2004, chevy 5.3, locking diff, can some help me out on this one, I just got off the phone with Summit and the guy there is telling me they do not carry gears for my truck, he is telling the axle size is 8.6?

Unless something has changed you do have an 8.6 rear. An 8.5 or 8.6 set-up should work for you. Why the guy is telling you he doesn't carry them, I don't know. Try Randy’s ring and pinion (google search) I got AAM gears installed in my truck. That is who makes the OEM gears for Chevy. I was told to avoid Richmond gears like the plague.

I always sell 8.5 10 bolt gears at work for NBS GM trucks....
