Default Disc to 05 DRUM ???'S

I want to swap over to a 05 drum set up because I want to run 15' Bogart street strip wheels. I can get the whole rear for pretty cheap, but what is involved in the swap? I searched , but ramdom comments where the best I could find. I know you can grind s-10 calipers down a lot and run a 15, but I want a streetable wheel. Any real world ino PLEASE. Thanks.

So just to verify, drum brakes will bolt up to a disc brake axle with no issues?

The axles flanges are the same, yes. As noted the hardlines and ebrake cables will be different.

Not sure if they will function at 100%, I'm still investigating that part.

Ive done it, went from drum to disc. Pretty straight forward swap. I bought a complete disc rearend for supercheap and used the hard line from the disc rear, very simple swap.

You are correct. 1 thing to note is the way the flanges on the housing are clocked. On a disc rear end there tilted at 45 degrees in relation to the pinion. On a drum rear end there parallel with the pinion.

Your best bet is to get a complete set up and bolt it in for simplicity. But just the brakes can be swaped...

As far as function. They will work but they use different pressures. I have only worked with drum to disc conversion. On a drum to disc swap, if you do a panic stop, it will lock up the disc in the rear... So in theory the drums may not get enough pressure and the front's might be working harder...
