Will down shifting my built 4l80 from lockup to 3rd to 2nd in the proper speed range of course hurt it? I have a big tranny cooler on it, I've heard u can but wasn't sure. I burnt up my stock 4l60 down shifting thats why I'm asking you guys . Thanks

You mean manually downshifting it? Of course not...

No auto trans should burn up due to manual downshifting in the proper speed range. That's what those gear selections are there for; if they didn't design the transmissions to be manually downshifted, you would only have P-R-N-D on your dash and nothing else.

Ok so with the big tranny cooler it helps with any heat build up also.

manual downshifting can hurt the 80e. not due to heat but due to mechanical strain. it is a relatively small sprag that will eventually give way....especially when dropping into 2nd

I've done that on every trans I've ever had, with no problems. The owners manual even tells you to downshift the auto to compensate for grade. I say go for it
