Default Drive Shaft Rubbing

Finally getting my 4l60 swapped over for a 4l80, good news right? Well in the disassembly it was noticed that my drive shaft is rubbing the gas tank x-member. The truck is dropped 4/6ish. I haven't heard of anyone having issues with the shaft in a reg cab truck rubbing the cab or any x-members, and I know there are guys lower than me, and the bagged guys. Is my truck a freak? Any ideas what could be causing this? I don't mind notching the x-member to get the clearance, but curious why its hitting so I can resolve that problem.

Seems like a hit or miss issue. I say notch it and carry on

I remember that Roger (AKLowriderZ71) recently had to notch a crossmember on one of his customer's lowered trucks, I believe that the thread was in this section too...

Just seen my first ever rub myself in that x member on a 4/6 drop. But the pinion angle was way off! Check your pinion angle before chopping it up.

Hmmm, that's something to check. The truck has been lowered for 6 or so years though, strange that it would start now. I want to go through the rear suspension and check everything and lower the back a little more anyways. I may just notch it since I want to go lower, but will still check the angle when I get it back.

Any other thoughts though?
