Default Driveshaft balancing question.

I recently just did a 4L80 swap. I need the front shaft lengthened and rear shortened. Anyway my rear shaft was made by the Driveshaft Specialist. I was going to send both of them out to them. I got to thinking about shipping cost and down time and called the local place here. They said that they only balance them to 3200 rpm. I was thinking that was low. Will this be an issue?

These guys make several driveshafts for dirt modifieds, late models, etc. I can't figure out why they only balance them to 3200? I asked and they said they never have any problems. If you look them up they're selling shafts on summit racing and everywhere else. "Fast Shafts".

Some people subscribe to old school trains of thought and its hard to convince them otherwise. Don't bother with them if they tell you 3200 is ok, because their machine is "high quality". Your drive shaft might balance perfect up to 3200, but 4500, **** could pop up. Get it balanced with some RPM.

I just decided to send it back to the Driveshaft Specialist, where I bought it.
This guy that owns it is an older gentleman so I'm sure he thinks its "high quality"! LOL!

Some good info here. They built the last couple of drive shafts for my race cars. I learned a good lesson from an exploding driveshaft. Mark Williams Enterprises - Driveshaft Technical Information
