Just read you have 4.10's, that makes a HUGE difference in driveshaft speed...

you're driveshaft is spinning way quicker at 120mph than that of a truck with 3.42's

Well i just measured. From tailshaft to rear end it is 61 3/4. The shaft itself is 58. I was measuring with my 60 inplace and from measurements the damn 80 is 1/2 longer than the 60.

X2. People forget that.

Sounds like they care more about their wallet than what will work for you.

I feel a 3.5 '' steel shaft is stronger/ just as safe as a 5'' alum. Both would be fine for you .
the 5" .125 thick will prob be stronger then a 3.5" .065 thick 4130 DS. but given my lenth which i know is over a foot longer then the OP's the steel absolutely will not hold the rpm i turn which is prob why they recommended the alum. Brent the owner of driveshaft specialists prob heard truck and said the aluminum since thats what most of us need.

about the money in their pocket, when i got mine i looked up the part numbers of the components used to build it and purely material alone is over $400 for someone to buy. that 5" tube is over $200 itself for 80" long. they already built mine and sent it and never even had my credit card info.

Im not sure if you mentioned your driveshaft's lengh because that has ALOT to do with what they would recommend, I asked for the best they could offer which is why I ended up with the 5x .125 aluminum driveshaft. They do make them in 3,4,5 inches im sure if you tell them you just want to be safe up to 110-120mph they could figure something out for you. i always figure by engine rpm because we would be going through traps in 3rd gear 1:1 ratio. any drag car you see even a pro mod doing 240mph doesnt have overdrive so they will only be turning engine rpm through the traps.
