Default Driveshaft size and how long

Has anyone ran a one piece driveshaft on a ext cab silverado? Is it possible or do I have to stick with the two piece shaft.

One member here I PM'd, had as 1 piece steel shaft, 3.5" in his ECSB with blown 6.0 He says it works well and only cost $275. I'm thinking about going to a 1 piece from the 2 piece because it's much easier for driveline angles adjustment. It looks like the center support base would probably have to be cut out though to give the room for a 1 piece shaft.
