Default driving without VSS connected

When i was dropping my trans last i forget to unplug the vss pigtail and broke the wires off really close to the plug.

Can I drive without it plugged in without any issue until i get a new pigtail to splice in? I know i won't have a speedo reading, but will the trans operate normally?

IIRC you'll be stuck in gear, trans won't shift because the computer doesn't know how fast you are going.

would manually shifting 1,2,3 etc work? I need to just fix it but idk if a dealer will have the connector in stock

EFI Connection, LLC - Item Details

If you can't get it quick from the dealer, I got this pretty quick when I did my 80e swap.

Not unless you had a full manual valve body in the trans.
