i jus started droppin a 99 z71 single cab. i removed the rear blocks and did the shackle mod. up front i trimmed the bump stops and lowerd the keys all the way but with a 1 turn increase. i like the way it sits but still need to dropp the front another .5-1 inch. i have a set of 2500 keys or should i order a set of dropp keys?? thanks guys

 

If you only want .5-1 inch the 2500 keys should be fine. And cheaper.

 

I used the 2500 keys to drop mine 2.5".

Actually, I could have gone (and did go) lower, but we had to raise it back up enough to bring the alignment (camber) to within spec...

"Purple" keys are much cheaper than drop keys, if you already have them in hand, I'd just use 'em...

 

the reason i asked is cause my dad has a 2500hd and im sure my dad wont mind if i swapp them out...lol... Its cause om running a 265/35/22 and dont want a big gap between the tire and fender

 

This is helpful for me. I was wondering the same thing, and I have 2500 keys waiting to go in. I was gonna do it today, but I don't wanna drive on New Year's Eve with a screwy alignment. Or worse yet, take out the Acura!
