Default Drop Shackles

Has anyone with 2" drop shackels noticed a horrible squeaking?! I put some Belltechs on mine and can't shake the squeaks. I let all of the weight on the springs before tightening the bolts and the noise seems to be coming from the binders towards the front and back of the springs.

Did you over-tighten the bolts? I've heard that can cause a squeak. I never noticed anything when I had my shackles on.

Seems to be a common occurance with the BellTechs. Mine on this truck squeaks some, although not near as bad.

My DJM's never squeaked on any of the trucks that I have used them on.

I have the Belltech shackles on my truck and they do not squeak. Did you snug the bolts with the truck's weight on the suspension? Notice I said "snug" and not torqued or tightened. Never snug suspension parts with the vehicle off the ground.

Unhappy

I sure wish mine just squeaked with the 2" shackles. My truck vibrates bad at 15-18mph right after adding them.
Tried a 2* shim both ways, and it didn't help.
Belltech and McGaughy don't know why it would be doing this either.
That's why I wish mine "just" squeaked!

I tightened the bolts on the ground. If I put lubrication on the "binders" it stops for a while, then starts again. I bought a grease fiitting with a needle and shot the rubber on all shackel componets full of grease. Just annoying.

This actually does help. Mine still squeaks occassionally, but not near as bad before I used the white lithium grease.
