no way will they work with a 2/4 drop. I have that size now with a 2" rear drop and factory height on the front. If I hit a driveway just right they will rub. those tires are 32" tall. I think you could get away with a 275/45/20 though.

I had my drop and didn't install it jsut becasue of this reason. They will rub and hit the fenders and anything else they can find. I would suggest going to a 275/45/20 Hankooks. this is what I was going ot do before I needed to sell my drop.

275-45-20's will work for sure. I don't think 275/55's will work unless the truck is eqipped with torsion bars and it still may be very tight. We installed a McGaughy's 2/4 drop on my brothers VHO. With the stock 20's, I think 285/50/20's, there was too much of a gap in the front. Maybe 2 inches. We bought BellTech torsion keys and lowered another 1.5 inches. Still never rubbed. I have some pics at home, if someone can post them, I can email them.

well i'm stationed here in the middle east until may. but it's all good...
i ordered some brand new 20" stingray III's off of ebay for $600.
they are 8" wide and have 5" backspacing. i only have 2" drop shackles now.
i plan on doing 2" drop spindles up front and adding 2" drop hangers to the rear to make my 2/4 drop. my stockers are 29.9" and the 275/55/20's i want to go with are 31.9". i guess i'll have to measure myself when i get back home to decide on what size to go with.

thanks guys

I had an '00 5.3/3.42 RCSB with 2" shackles and Stingray III's with 275/55/20s and they rubbed for the first few weeks and then stopped. I would definately go with 45s, especialy if you want to lower the truck more. Not to mention, the truck wouldnt even spin the tires anymore and I lost about 3mpg. I have a couple of pics, but dont know how to insert them yet. Tell me how and I will post them.

I think Silver6.0, or something like that, is running 285/50/20s on his hotchkis 2/4 drop and I don't remember him talking about any rubbing. A 275/45/20 would be the closest to a stock height tire that you could get and you will still have some fender gap.

Upload the pics to Photobucket and then you will be able to link to them like the pic in my sig. The site explains how to do it and it is very easy.

The pics dont show the height as well as I thought, but maybe it will help. 2" shackle drop only, 20" Stingray IIIs, 275/55/20 Goodyear LS.
