Default dropping my truck

I think i have finally decided to maybe lower my truck. Whats a decent brand of lowering parts belltech? Mcgaughtys? just wanting to do a 2/4 need to do spindles instead of smaller coils to keep a good ride. I see some people c-notch and some dont. What is everyone doing these days for lowering a truck this much? thanks

I used Mcgaughtys parts on my 2006 long bed, no problems at all.

Did spindles up front and shackles/hangers in the rear. Used their shocks as well. Just had to cut the bump stops in the rear like 2 inches on my truck.

good deal, i prefer not to cut my frame but if it needed done i could. I can start with what you did and cut bumpstops. I already have the shackles in the rear to remove the rake look, but think i need a little more now to get a good stance.

Reg cab should be ok without a notch. Ext cab's usually seem to need them.

would it be worth trolling the classifieds for anyone selling slightly used 2/4 drops? I see some that have them and sell them because they decided to lower their truck more. I guess only plus would be to get couple bucks off the parts as opposed to buying them new.

That's a possibility, but since you have to grind off the factory rivets, they usually keep the hardware. Not big obstacle but something to keep in mind.

Did some more reading on Mcgaughys since it was mentioned. I know this is dated on all the post like 7ish years ago, about the front spindles turning radius isnt too good. You have to grind some of the threads on the ball joint. Not sure if they have corrected these or not, or even if it is an issue anymore

I have McGuaghy's spindles on mine right now. The turning radius is just slightly larger and if I remember correctly, the 16" versions require the thread grinding, not he 17"+ versions.

I ran the McGaughys part #33004 for 17"+ wheels on my 99 RCSB and there was a noticeable increase in turning radius for me. You can Google around and maybe find information about grinding the inside of the spindle where the steering stop hits it and get some or all of the turning radius back. I had already moved on to Belltech 2508's and best I can remember, turning radius was much more stock like for me. Also, at one point I had 4" Hotchkis rear springs on the truck and ended up with a c notch due to lack of travel.

Well in a perfect world it would be nice be able to lower a truck and retain stock turn radius, ride, and etc. Well if belltechs front spindles give you better turning radius that would be better then get mcgaughys rear drop. But like everything one has one product and it works fine for them and another person with exact setup will have a defect. Let me ask this, is the turning radius after a drop spindle just as bad as a 4x4 vehicle or a quad cab? If its not then I can live with that because my z71 turning radius isnt great and i can live with that but its expected with that type of vehicle.
