Mine does this too. I replaced the u-joints and still the same thing. From my research on here, it is just slop and happens to a lot of NBS trucks.

Some people said to use grease, but I just live with mine and sigh every time I hear it.

my friends does it and it's due to slack in transfer case or tailshaft on tranny. Mine clunks but the damn u joint is going out so...I don't know what to tell you ..

Pull the yoke out, grease it up and reinstall it.

Anything new on this? I was thinking U-joints on mine but they look fine and have no slop in them.

I replaced my yoke to the upgraded nickel plated one and it quieted down....temporarily. Sometimes the clunk is LOUD!
