Default Eaton LSD Problem???? Need Input.

I've had my Eaton LSD in for about a year now. Just the other day I was backing up very slowly with the wheel cut deeply and all of a sudden...."pop, pop, pop," and the truck shook each time it popped...loudly I might add.

After I straightened the wheel and went foreward a bit it was fine, and has done this about 10 times since hten, and only in reverse with the wheel binded.

What gives? Is my locker not dis-engaging or has anyone else had this problem?

The only noise I've heard mine make is a god awful pop backing up when the pinion nut backed off. I take it, that there is no new whine coming from it?

dAMN!!! I didn't think about the pinion nut backing off.....thanx for that advice!!!! I was thinking I may not have tightened it up enough to crush my sleeve completely......but thanx....thanx a million.

No, no new noises, just an irritating pop when I'm in reverse.

if the nut is not loose then add some friction modifier.

Why would it be engaging while your bacing up?? Were your tires spinning?

Change the fluid and add some friction modifier. Most lsd manufacturers prefer you use non synthetic lube.

That's the same question I'm stumped on...I don't know why it would be engaging in reverse at 3 mph????
