I am hoping I am not in the same boat as you but I guess we will see. Let me know how that truetrack works out for you as I was looking into those as a replacement if the Eaton breaks again. Did you get the one with two or three pinion gears?

When I talked to the people at Tractech they said they sponsor johnny lightning and he's running a true track but it ain't in a 8.5 10 bolt. I think that's the real culprit here.
The unit I got has 3 pinion gears. I didn't know I had a choice. What's the take on that?

My trutrack has the 3 pinion gears. I read that they redesigned it due to breakage issues. I don't think they make the 2 pinion trutrack anymore.
Just to be **** but i've always refered to the side gears as side gears or axle gears and the smaller idler gears that are on the cross pin as spider gears.

After getting it out, I broke 4 1/2 teeth off the driver side side gear which chewed up the two pinion gears a bit. The pass side gears looked great so at least I'll have one spare if it happens again. :\
As for the truetrack info, I didn't know they only made the 3 pinion now. That is good to know. As for JLP, I am assume he is running a 9"? I think our 8.6 is plenty strong as far as the gears, axles, housing is concerned where the differental is the weak point.
