I've heard that the eaton g80 will last a while as long as you abuse them in a straight line, but will eventually break. Seems that doughnuts and other types of circular abuse is what usually kills the g80.
I have one in my truck right now making 400rwhp and 400rwtq, no torque management and a Vig 3200. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I know I'll have to replace it sooner or later. Hopefully later.

I had the Eaton G80 (stock) it was ok until it quit locking.. pulled it out and replaced it with the LSD.
Gave the G80 to sombody..
here is whats left of my cousins G80

There is no way i would have ever put another stock Diff back in the truck after one broke...

I can tell you first hand the 10.5" version of the Eaton Posi (Aftermarket LSD) is a install-and-forget consistent-performing bulletproof investment. That differential is spinning its SEVENTH set of tires.
It's one of the few things on the truck that's proven doesn't need to be bought again.

only reason i went back with stock at the time becuase its a dd and my only way to work at the time and local junk yard keeps G80s in stock........ one questiont though the aftermarket LSD still has clutchs right? i aint really looked at one but im guessin...... will the clutchs in it hold up better or can you upgrade so some that will?? like i said my new G80 hasn't been in but three maybe four months oil was full of burnt clutch fiber and clutches already look wore out
