Got my 80E HD2 kit installed tonight with the help of the instructions and some visual support from this thread. Thanks a ton for the write-up! I also wanted to add that I re-torqued all bolts that were removed to 105 in-lbs. Note that the valve body bolts are the be torqued in a sequence (like an SBC head or intake).
Also make sure that you have the Torx bit for the bolt that is removed and the Allen bit for the bolt that the previous bolt is replaced with. I ended up having to run down the road to harbor freight to pick up a Torx set.
All-in-all, it was a fairly straight-forward install. It was definitely the furthest that I've been into any trans but I would venture to say that anyone can do it by following the directions and getting a bit of help from the forum. HoIpefully it will live behind the engine in my Monte. Next will be to find a 4WD 80E and big stall for the Denali!!

you got me interested when you said it is possible to swap in a 2500hd front diff assembly, who else has done this??
im starting my 4l80e swap now collecting parts and needing a front diff anyways, that would be a cool swap, im doing custom steel shafts front and rear at that time so it would be the best time to do it.

im about finished with my 6.0 and 80e in my 1500 sclb 4x4 but i have a question... my motor and transmsison is from a 2000 2500hd of the same truck (mines a 01) but the tranny only has one input sensor, its the one closest to the front that you are wiring in for, tha rear one that your just plugging into is not on mine, it as some kind of rubber block off where it was never there.. should i just plug my one factory plug into the only front one i have or wire it in like in your post and leave my factory plug open..... my only other thought is to wire in the new one and run it to the one i have and take the rear one out of my 60 and put it in the block off and use my factors harness for that one..
