You need to make a new harness & wire in the front trans speed sensor(input shaft speed sensor) to the PCM, just like this thread writeup explains.

Because your truck is a 4x4, you will use the speed sensor in the transfer case instead of the transmission's output shaft speed sensor. Your transfer case sensor and wiring already exists, you just need to plug it back in after you reinstall the t-case.

35 pgs, 2 hrs reading well spent, thank you for the time to go over all of this, my 2wd swap should be slightly simpler, but incredibly simple compared to having to figure all of this out on my own! Can't wait!

agreed i did a 6.0, and 4l80e swap at the same time into my 1500 sclb 4x4.. the motor was straight foward, and with this post ive not had a problem with the tranny as far as codes or shifting with following the wiring directions.. only thing ive noticed is when i put it in 4wd my dash light no longer comes on, any one know where this sensor is... also i have a the extra speed sensor plug for the 80e swap and about 5ft of factory twisted wire if anyone wants it,prob about 4 for shipping and a few bucks for gas and its yours

i have a question for people how ran the hd lines... i just ordered them but havent installed them yet.. it looks ike after recieving them that one runs up to the cooler and one runs to the top of the radiator.. so i guess i need to order a line that runs from the other side of the cooler to the bottom of the radiator? or did i get a wrong line.. i was hoping the lines ran straight to the cooler but without having to go through the radiator and collect head from the coolent

That line is the same one you currently have if you have the factory cooler...

i dont have a factory cooler.... so then there is a line that runs from the cooler to the radiator? and they both dont run from the tranny straight to the cooler

great write up.

where are you guys getting the prongs that go in the pcm connector? (the ones in the pic below.) the 4l80e i bought has the sensor plug and connector but the wiring are cut about 3ft. so i just need those prongs and ill be set.
