Need to move the crossmember mount back about 2.5 inches. The DS shortened about 1.75 inches.

I got the same measurements for mine.

That looks great pat. How long before you do the swap? I'm going to order my new converter very soon. I'll get my swap done shortly after that.

Waiting on my billet input shaft then trans will be done, next month or so I guess. Waiting for weather to break before I get the truck back out.

this is just the thread im looking for. Hoping to get a 4l80e into my 05 5.3 4x4

One big question i have maybe someone can answer is can i just use a transfercase from a 6.0 truck instead of putting new parts in my stock one?

what years of 4l80e parts do i need say for flywheel?

and what years of 4l80 trans do i want to stay away from?

Awesome post. I have an 07 Tahoe Z71....and my boos just offered me a 4L80 with a transfer case attached to it.

I have been waiting on going turbo because of the 4l60 that's currently in it. Thinking long and hard about doing this swap now a little sooner. Just not sure if I should hold out for a 6l80 or if I should just be glad with what was just offered to me.

Parts/mods needed as I know them so far. I'll update everything with part numbers if I purchase them and know they work.

4WD 4l80e trans - has short output shaft and adapter for transfer case.
4l80e torque converter
Bell housing cover
Dipstick tube
4L80E flex plate
Crank to flex plate spacer and the longer bolts
Wiring mods to the main transmission connector (pigtails can be bought)
Extra speed sensor connector, wiring and pins to connect to the PCM
32 spline input shaft for the transfer case. (you can swap output shafts in the transmission)
Tune with 4l80e segment swap written to PCM after the swap.
4l80e transmission cooler lines or modify what you have
Modified transmission cross member.
Modified/New Driveshafts - Rear shorter - Possibly front longer

So how much money u have sunk into ur whole 80 swap?
