Now that you say that I think it might be, so the transmission is going to need a rebuild?

Sounds like from what youre describing if youre bouncing off the rev limiter it will cut fuel and retard timing which will essentially make it backfire....

Have you by chance checked your trans fluid?? Level, color, and smell?? When you do also look for metal flakes in the fluid on the dipstick.....

Had trailblazer that so long as you drove it like a grandma it was fine but as soon as you tried to give it gas it would slip bad.... Ended up being the 3-4 clutch burnt up due to as far as i could tell the deal being worn put on the 3-4 accumulstor....

It's marroon,smells normal to me, and it's where it needs to be. No metal
flakings either.

I haven't touched the transmission fluid, I bought it with a built transmission. Last owner said he put the tranny in around 7 months from when I bought it. I added the mods in the first 2 months I got it. I've had it for 4 months so I think it could need a change, let me go take a picture of the dipstick.
