I agree, keep the caltracs and see what happens. A set of drag radials might improve your traction on the street and the caltracs will keep your springs from ever wrapping up. You will need them with slicks. Air down your street tires a few psi at a time to see if traction improves.

nitto 555r's, M/T drag radials, or M/T et streets will cure your street issues.

it streets will do best but im not sure how they would act in the rain. i LOVE my 555r's but im guna try out the M/T drag radials out as my next set.

im not sure why i wasted so much time with toyo's, nitto 404's and kumo's (sp?)

I am thinking the mt's, I am running kumo's now, have read that they are pretty sticky for being a street tire, Ima play wit tire pressure on these and see where it gets me..

if you are gonna be playing on the streets dont waste your time on the e.t streets maybe the m/t drag radials but my et streets spin thru 2nd on the street without the spray on the spray they are not any good till bout 60 mph i loved my nitto 555r's on the street i could stall it up and spray it from a dig and they wouldnt spin a bit.

im guessing you were using the 26" et streets? step up to the 28X11.5 et streets and its a world of a difference.

i can vouce for spinning a 28" et street. from my experience those tires dont work all that well till they have heat in them.

now a Drag radial or a soft compound street tire will hook better then a bias tire untill it gets some heat in them. thats why with a DR you dont overly heat them. a bias tire you heat them up big time for start of day then just haze them each after [as long as within a nice time frame]

for me a 26" QTP worked better overall then a set of 28" ET street.

I def noticed a diff on street tires with the caltracs, my truck cut a 1.9 60ft on nitto 404 street tires. It probably would have cut an even better time if i would have launched it harder, but no tires spin feathering it off 4000rpms off the line.
