escalade 2wd tranny
I just noticed that the 2wd escalade still have the 4L60-E Hydra-Matic even though its got the 6.0 H.O in it. I thought that tranny wasnt srtong enough to handle so much horsepower. The trucks with vortecMAX package have a better tranny dont they? What Gives?

all the 04 escalades and down had the 5.3 in the base model with 2wd, in the 05 the escalade got the 6.0 as a standard feature, with the same 2 wheel drive and tranny. My mom previously had an 04 with the 5.3 before she traded it in for one with the 6.0 with awd.

OK so I was half wrong you used to be able to get them with a 5.3 but you cant order one now with a 6L. Either way Luda GM adds so much damn TM into the programming to make them last even then sometimes they dont last. I dont know why they odnt throw the new 4L70E behind their engines in the upscale models but then again its useless to try and figure out GM's logic.
