Default factory bump stops

Hey guys, on my 04 VHO I put 2" shackles in the back &keys up front. My problem is that I am sitting on the bump stops. Are my springs shot, or is this normal with doing keys as well I have put these same shackles on other 2wd trucks and it's been ok on them. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

My SS rode on the bump stops with just 2" shackles. I just cut off one level of it and it works great.

My truck was sitting on the stops up front stock. I put in 2" lowering keys and cut the front stops by 3/4". Not a perfect cut but they still sit on the front stops after I cut them so they should be close.
I lowered the back 5" with hangers/shackles. I had 5" of clearance to the rear stops so I was sitting on them after the drop. I cut them from 3" to about 1 1/4" giving me about 2 3/8" of clearance. They banged a bit so I since cut them to 1/2" and have close to 3" of clearance. They still bang a bit but not as much. It takes a fair bump to bottom them now and sometimes it is hard to tell if it is just a hard bump or if they are bottoming. If it still bothers me after the frost heaves are gone I will put helper bags on it.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll try trimming off a little bit at atime and see if that helps.

I covered this in GM Hi-Tech Performance this month.
Just don't trim them too far.
