Default Failing converter?

What are the signs of a failing converter? Mine feels like it has trouble flashing.

I remember hearing it do it when we were in mexico .. It was almost like it wasn't feeding enough fuel and bouncing off a rev limiter. It would scream for a second then bla bla bla bla bla.

Have you put a fuel pressure guage on it to see if its dropping pressure when it does that? I don't think that would be a torque converter problem but I wasn't in it to see and feel what it was doin
