Default FI + 4l80e + stock stall whos running it?

well im gathering parts for my 80E swap and im not sure if i want to spend the money on a stall right now. who is running a stock stall on a 80E with forced induction (turbo/super charger)? i will be running 6-9 psi. isn't there a factory stall of like 2100 or something?

i just did my 80e swap and i too didn't feel like spending the money for the stall. i kinda wish i had spent the money cuz now i really don't feel like takin that tranny out again just cuz the bolts are a bitch to get to. but with all that said, i don't really mind the stock converter. it's not THAT bad. mine feels like its a 2400 stall if i remember right. and i'm assuming you have 373s which is a hell of alot better than my 342s lol. you should be fine with the stock stall...for now.

thanks, and from reading your sig it doesn't look like you have a power adder. that makes me a little happier seeing as mine should stall high due to more power. im not really worried about pulling the trans to install a tc. im getting pretty good at it. oh your right i do have 373s

anyone else got some imput.

I ran a stock 80e converter. If I were to do it again I would put a 3000 in. Stock 80e is quite a bit looser than the stock 60e converter, but won't completely offset the taller first gear ratio. If you don't have any power adders planned I would go with more stall.

I'm running a stock replacement Hughes towing converter. With the N/A 408 it would stall up to about 2400. With the turbo I can get it to stall up to about 3000-3200.

nitrous, or bigger

Basically stock is

You must have been practicing on a friends vehicle! If it were me Lance I would put a stall in there. The 80 is a bit heavier than the 60. I would suggest a 2600-2800 stall converter. Just a thought. Happy holidays. Vince
