I don't know much about trans brakes, could I get one of them instead of a bigger stall? or will it only brake up to what the stall is rated for?

It stalls up to the stall speed on the brake which can be higher than you can foot brake a converter.

I wouldnt recommend a 4L60E with a trans brake in these trucks, the weight of the truck for the transmission to move is already asking a lot, I would recommend upgrading to a 4L80E if you are really dead set on a trans brake.

NO

there have been guys that have used the transbrake 4L60E but I havn't seen any that use them in the trucks. I say its a ticking timebomb to ask an already weak transmission to slam into first gear and try to sling 4500ish# out of the hole.

Call and Talk to Vince or Chuck at FLT and I bet you couldn't convince them to put a brake in a 4L60E in a truck.
