My truck was a 5spd. to start with. All the plugs just plugged right in. I know the comp. doesn't know about 6th gear though. I just may not have been going fast enough to engage cruise , like the other guy's suggested. Will check it out later.

I don't remember the minimum speed for the Cruise to engage at but, i think its like 30mph and IF the pcm is truly using RPMs to compare to the speed that must be the problem... It makes the most sense... which is diturbing that it makes sense. LoL

If I remember correctly, The T56 has a 17 tooth reluctor wheel and the 5 speed has a 40 something tooth wheel. I had to redo the calculations for the speedo to work but maybe there is another table to do with the speed sensor that the cruise comes off of that needs to be changed as well. Basically, thinking that is going too slow. Just an idea. I don't have my HPT with me or i'd dig through it now.

I think it would be more of a computer thing and not the RPM because my Z28 would cruise all day with 2.73 gears and the auto and I was around 1500 or so at 70 90 mph was 2000. Please almost every Fbody stock was 3.42

Well, mine will go into cruise in 4th and 5th even as slow as 25 mph but not in 6th. There are two switches if I remember correctly on the tranny besides the speed sensor. One is for the reverse light and the other one may be something the cruise is coming off of and it is making up or droping out when in 6th. I'll have to get under it with a voltmeter while someone else rows the gears.

what you dont understand is trucks run a taller tire so it throws off the ratio. a 342 with a 30" tall tire is like a 292 in a Fbody. and if the computer isnt setup then it will be off or not work right. its used to seeing a certain rpm and speed to engage. also if the wasnt done right the speedo would be 50% off on readings.

The big brown truck just dropped of a new 4.56 ring and pinion today. So that should cure any rpm problems that I have. But I tend to think it is something in the computer that is not reading the new trans right. I don't have any tuning software yet, so I really don't know what is going on with that.
I do appreciate everyones input .
Thanks Ron
