Default AN fittings for tranny cooler

I did a search and found a bunch of stuff that confussed me. I want to run a tranny cooler on my truck that didn't come with the factory cooler. My question is:

What AN fittings will I need for the tranny and the cooler?
How many feet of SS braided line do I need? -6 AN hose?
A B&M supercooler should work fine?

Thanks,

Chris

The fittings in the transmission are 1/4" NPT threads, but not tapered.

Like James don't get NPT fittings, try a AN fitting or o-ring boss fitting. I did a post on my tranny and engine oil cooler install but you will have to do a search for it. I used the factory steel and soldered some 37* fitting (AN) on the end of the steel tubing.

You can buy a tube nut and a sleeve to connect #6 directly to steel line. You have to re-flare the line once you slide them on though. I bought another piece of 3/8 steel line, put the tube nut and sleeve on then used a compression fitting to put it back together. I used #6 line (about 5-6 feet), 2 #6 to #6 male connectors, 2 90 degree female ends, 2 straight female ends, and 2 #10 female to #6 male adapters to hook it up to my Setrab oil cooler. That cooler was the original heat exchanger for my Radix. My trans temps dropped 40+ degrees.
