flexplate question on 80e swap
im currently doin the 60e to 80e swap in my truck and having trouble deciding the right flexplate to buy. i recently just purchased a 1999 4l0e with stock converter im looking to adapt this trans and converter to my ls1. i have been looking at the tci flexplate (summit part #399754) and wondering if i still have to buy the spacer with this flexplate? can someone point me in the right direction?

I believe that flexplate will come with a pilot extension. But we have an interesting option for you. Our 278mm HP series converter is much lighter and a little higher stall than the big OE converter. You can get it in a 2600-2800 or 3000-3200 range. And it will fit the OE 4L60 flexplate. Just some food for thought....

You will notice a big difference betwen stock converter and something Chris can make for you, you can save money and headache buying a flywheel and just have the converter made for your combo. Otherwise I remember a post with the run down of what crank distances and spacers and flywheels went on what models if you do a search.

Thanks for the reply and I was wanting to wait till next year before I put a stall in it but if I decide to go that route how much can a stock ls1 flex plate hold buy the end of my build I plain to be around 600hp on spray
