I bought the trans from a friend. I will need the t and the bypass check valve. I didnt know I needed the check valve. What happens if I run it without it? Should I leave the vacumn line undone until I get it?
Thanks,
Randy

Randy,

Don't run the trans without it, You can damage the trans if boost gets into the vacuum signal, I don't recommend running the trans without the line connected either because your running the trans at max line pressure at all times which not good either. If you need both pieces you can call me at the shop 630-350-7776 and I'll send them to you on Monday. I also would recommend that you buy a piece of 1/4 inch brake line to make the vacuum line out of, It works better than rubber hose IMO.

Don't forget to install a check valve in the vacuum line to keep the boost for the vacuum modulator.

What is the advantage of having the vacuum modulator. And what does it do?

Got one on the way. Was about to make a big mistake, but Chuck stopped that

The transmission will shift softer and smooth under regular driving, but when you get on it, it shifts fast and firm

Randy, That is true, but more importantly it does a better job of matching line pressure and engine torque than the pressure control solenoid and computer can IMO. Did you get your tee and ck valve installed?
