anyone know what would be considered the stronger/more durable trans of the 2?

LOL without question the level 5 4l80e. It should hold up to quadruple digit power numbers.

yeah, the 80e is good for over 1000rwhp+ in our heavy *** trucks

that 60e is only good for about 550rwhp max

plans include building up a 6.0L, and adding a front mount turbo...the trans questions was simply some research for the near future

A stock 80e is stronger than a fully built 60e.

I hope you're wrong on that & being a lil conservative. I'd feel more comfortable if you said say, 6-700rwhp; 700 would really put me at ease. That way I'd think I'd never need more than a Level 7 60E.
Myself, I like the fact that a highly built 60e is direct & it has the better 1st gear & OD ratio by a tad. Probably more than wire harness mod for a 80E, is I'm really spooked on gettin tuned PROPERLY for 80E.

i would say AT MOST 600-650 is what ull see out of a 65e fully built. just depends on ur setup and i believe weight has a lot to do with that as well. so in a fbody it may see 700 but a truck i dont think id say over 600...
