Dex VI as they are backwards compatible. Also, you get the benefits of the new synthetic blends that are in Dex VI.

"...DEXRONŽ-VI fluids are designed to be backward compatible with earlier transmission hardware. More importantly, earlier type fluids are not forward compatible with transmission hardware that was designed to use DEXRONŽ-VI fluid, i.e. DEXRONŽ-III is not compatible with the most recently designed transmissions, and the use of these earlier type fluids could result in transmission damage..."

I've already read all of the hype and propaganda from GM and the other manufacturers. I'm in the business, and I worked for GM for 14 years.

We have customers running dex 6. I have had people tell me they can't find dex 3 anymore. We have not had any problems with the dex 3 and we have been using it all along.
