Default Ford Torsion Keys? How high?

hey does anyone know the benifits to having ford torsion keys instead of cranking the torsion bars? will i obtain more lift from the ford keys?
-my plan is to get 2-3 inches lift all the way around with torsion keys in front with longer shocks, and add-a-leafs or blocks in the rear. what do yall reccomend or think? thanks in advance.

I looked into this and decided against it. Any more than 1" in the front will put stress on cv boot and end up costing you more for parts in the long run.
You can twist the Torsion bars without the keys.

call me crazy
but I think using the ford keys to level vs cranking the stock ones results in a better ride with the ford keys

Naw, only changes the index so you can twist more! Other wise it's the same.

Yeah, a torsion lift, is a torsion lift. no matter how you preload it, you're still preloading it.

Depends on how much room you have left to crank on your stock bars. I know on my old 99', one side was already maxed out while the other side still had room left. In that case I had to buy the Ford keys to be able to raise the front.
But if you still have room left to crank on the stockers, I'd say just see if you can get the amount of lift out of them that you want. If not, buy the ford keys.

ah too expensive, all we need is ford keys and longer shocks for the front, and add-a-leafs, or blocks for the rear.

when lifting with ford keys and longer shocks, is it necessary to mess with the bump stops?

I did not with mine, but I've heard others say different.
