Default Front End Lift - 4x4

I am taking delivery of a new '06 RCSB 4x4 tomorrow. I would like to lift the front to be equal to the back height, does anyone know how to achieve this cheaply?

Could I swap out the front coils for a 3/4 ton, or 3/4 HD? Would the coils interchange? Would I screw anything up?

Don't want a sky high ride, just a little added height.

Thanks,

Keith

You can crank down on the torsion bars to lift it a little bit. Just make sure to have a front end alignment done whether you do that or use coils cause that'll throw out the alignment.

The 4WD's all have torsion bars, crank them up and it will level it out. And yes you can swap out the 3/4 ton TB's with the Half tons. Requires some work.

Crank the torsion bars, and you dont have coils so thats out of the question.

yup the t-bars need to be cranked, if that isnt enough get some ford keys for their additional adjustment.

I need to see a blow up drawing or picture of the front suspension so I understand how the torsion bars work, especially with no springs? Can anyone help me out?

About tightening my torsion bars, how is this done? I'm assuming the tie into the fram somwhere near under the doors? Can I crank those things down myself? With a 1/2" impact, what size? How do I keep the truck level, turn the bolt equal number of turns on each side?

I'm not looking to jack it up real high, just level it out. I had the torsion bars cranked down on my '89 Pathfider and it made all the difference in the world as far as looks and leveling out goes.

Any help would be appreciated.

If nobody else has posted by tonight, I'll see if I can pull a diagram of the front suspension off the computer in the shop tomorrow. As for tightening the torsion bars I think it's something like a 16 or 17 MM nut at the back of them. I wouldn't use an impact cause you shouldn't have to turn them that hard, just a boxed end wrench or ratchet/socket should be all you need.
