it burnt the tires for about 4 feet and POW, then the tire wobbled and squeaked/squealed the rest of the way home.

I broke one doing a burnout at the track. I put a set of Yukon's in it. Pretty affordable I do believe and they have them pre-made and not have to get them custom made.

If you broke a 10 bolt axle, it should slide out, as a matter of fact, you shouldn't have been able to drice it even a mile without it squirting out of the axle, it's not a full floater ya know, I'm curious to see what the carnage is.

His brake caliper was probably keeping the axle/rotor attached to the truck.

Yeah that was my first thought then the idea of disc brakes that vanilla brought up. You're right if it were a drum system it wouldn't have gone far.

I have been through a few axles, I have an aftermarket one sitting in the shed because I havnt gotten it warrantied yet, it just twisted the splines on the aftermarket one though. Also I have snapped an axle and drove home 30 miles on it, just took it really easy. And i have snapped an axle before and only been able to barley drive it on a trailer all depends on were exactly it snaps but it wont come out thanks to the rear disk brakes.
