Default G80 = No bueno

Well my G80 blew up, no surprise huh? It binded up on me the other day and after the trans shop got done working on my 60e they backed it off the lift and heard a big pop. I got Brian (axisT6) to hook me up with a Detroit Truetrac and 4.10's so maybe sometime mid next week all the parts will be in the truck. Here'a few pics of the gov-bomb.

The stock gears seem to be perfectly fine. The diff had a lot of water in it, most likely from this past month's double floods. **** happens, and I guess now I don't have to worry about breaking the G80 anymore lol. I'll post some more pics when Brian does the gear/diff install at the house next week.

trutrac should come stock. It works much better than the G80 and is completely seamless in its operation.

x2, I really dont even notice its back there unless I stomp on it and spin both tires. The only time in daily driving it that I can feel it is if I am pulling a U turn and give it a decent bit of throttle I can feel a wheel skipping because its locked, but that just lets you know its working. The lock up on the truetrac is amazing on the street. No idea how it does offroad but that isn't exactly what it was designed for

yep...that's the only thing I don't like about the trutrac...is when it's wet outside and I'm making say a right turn onto a street my back end hops around a little because it locks up...G80 doesn't do that.

that's good to hear, I'm really looking forward to running a decent differential for once. How do you like the 4.11's?
