G80 blew this morning and took the tranny w/ it.

If that is a brand new truck, that's scary. That would mean they're a bigger than b4.

The 4l60e shifts really soft in these trucks, until you swap to a corette or super servo. fastnblu your tranny is probably fine, if its slipping it would act differently.
what kind of tune do you have, that can creat a warrenty problem, but basic bolt ons will not. i hope this helps

The 1-2 shift on the 4l60 is sloppy anyway, and the only way to somewhat remedy it is w/ a vette or billet servo, or a shift kit (transgo HD2). The 10 bolt can take plenty abuse and power and still keep on goin, it's the G80 Gov-Lock that is the weak link in the chain, it is the nature of it's design. Under low power engagement it will last for a long-time, but if you really get on it.... My tranny was slipping a bit, even w/ increased line pressure and a vette servo, and thats because I bought the truck when I was 17 and drove like it. The rear-end blew and cracked one of the planataries...GM determined this was caused by the abrupt seizure of the G80, thus overstressing...yada, yada, yada. Your trans is probably fine, just don't race every honda you see at a red-light.
If you drive hard, ditch the G80 for a tru-trac or Eaton LSD, the factory ring and pinion should be fine, many guys are running them in high power trucks. Do the servo install, your transmission will thank you. BTW, a tranny cooler is a definite must have.
